Description
Kashnor notes, "Shows the North-West coast with California as an island, after which the coast extends of sixty degrees longitude, though still in the same latitude. It is curious that this coastline was placed in almost the same position by Robert de Vaugondy in 1778." This is Speed's famous world map of 1626, fourth state, from the 1676 edition.
