Shown is a 1927 promotional calendar for Sydenstricker's drugstore empire, built by Missouri-born Marvin Sydenstricker. Everything started with Sydenstricker taking a job as a delivery boy at the Lightarch Pharmacy at Eighteenth and M streets when he was 14-years-old. After obtaining his pharmacy degree, he bought the store and went on to open three others prior to his death in 1969.
