Description
Photograph of alligators going down a toboggan slide at an alligator farm (possibly the California Alligator Farm, Los Angeles), ca.1900. From behind a chickenwire fence a man in a sports coat is visible holding some sort of rod in the air while alligators go down the slide next to him. The slide ends in an artificial pond. Spectators can be seen in the background gathered along the fence. In the foreground, roughly seven alligators have gathered on the side of the pond opposite the slide. In the pen, behind the man with the rod, a kneeling man tends to a young alligator, roughly three feet long.
