Description
Photograph shows Richard Gordon in a suit and tie. There are other people in the background. "In late 1982, a group of individuals led by Jim Meyer and Richard Gordon attempted to form a gay chamber of commerce on the Peninsula. However, with fewer than a dozen established gay businesses in operation and at the time -- the majority of which were bars -- that concept had to be revamped and the Peninsula Business and Professional Association (PBPA) was born. The Peninsula Business & Professional Association is an organization that promotes community involvement, education and social contact between businesses and lesbian and gay people." See Ted Sahl, "From Community to Closet"; (2002), p. 96-97. Scanned with Microtek Scanmaker 1000XL Pro; as a 600 dpi TIFF image in 8-bit Grayscale. Auto Level image processing and compressed into JPEG
