Description
Taken on October 26, 1928, in the State Library's Circulation Room, this Edward Field Sanford, Jr., sculpture symbolizes ""Wisdom."" The work was done in green bronze and Sanford was quoted in the 1939 Sacramento Bee Guide Book as saying that for Wisdom ""I have used a mature head and a youthful body to express the idea that knowledge, when acquired, regains youth.""
