These photographs are contained in one of two volumes by Dobbin titled "Album of San Francisco."
Text written next to photos: "Japanese Wrestelers [sic]. These men put on an exhibition of wresteling [sic] at Dreamland Rink, the most remarkable performance ever witnessed in San Francisco. 1917." These photos show the Sumo wrestlers not at Dreamland but in an outdoor arena. The top photo shows two men wrestling, one wrestler sitting at edge of rink, referee (center), audience behind. The second from top shows the entire troupe of wrestlers standing in a circle.
