View of stage coach owned by the Native Sons of the Golden West, Auburn; en route to the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge opening celebration on November 12, 1936. Photograph was taken November 8. Coach driven by Roy Blexham and Jim Dixon (of Placerville).

Sacramento's contribution to the celebration of the opening of the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge was the Progress of Transportation Pageant. The Pageant consisted of a different form of transportation leaving Sutter's Fort each day, traveling to San Francisco for the opening. Pageant was sponsored by the Sacramento Chamber of Commerce.
