2017-0169. View of stage coach owned by the Native Sons of the Golden West, Auburn; en route to the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge opening celebration on November 12, 1936. Photograph was taken November 8. Coach driven by Roy Blexham and Jim Dixon (of Placerville). McCurry no.: 31965-6. Sacramento's contribution to the celebration of the opening of the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge was the Progress of Transportation Pageant. The Pageant consisted of a different form of transportation leaving Sutter's Fort each day, traveling to San Francisco for the opening. Pageant was sponsored by the Sacramento Chamber of Commerce.
