Inside view of Utro's Cafe, a local restaurant and bar located at Berth 73. It serves seafood and burgers that locals call "legendary" and is owned by Joe "Utro" Utovac (pictured), a San Pedro H.S. class of 1965 alumni. Utro's very cozy decor is all memorabilia from the docks and wharfs, and the walls are covered with nostalgic photos of bygone times in San Pedro. It is a favorite spot of the Longshoremen, boaters, and fishermen, as it sits in the crotch of the San Pedro Slip. The cafe was moved in the late 60's, from further up the hill to its present location, to make way for an apartment complex. The building that Utro's occupies used to be the Fisherman's Association Building when the fishing industry was in its heyday; it sits across from the parking lot from the Ports O' Call Village. Photograph dated 2001.
