Description
Additional oversized print of map available in the SPNB Collection.; Photographic reproduction of an 1849 map. Reproduction sponsored by the Federal Writers' Project, dated May 19, 1936. Most of the handwriting present on the map is illegible due to its size and the fading of the ink.
Map of the first survey of the pueblo of Los Angeles, made by Lt. Edward O.C. Ord, U.S. Army, in August 1849. The map reads, "Plan de la Ciudad de Los Angeles ... surveyed and drawn by E.O.C. Ord."; See image 00067714 for a detailed view of the northern portion of the map.
