Charles Handy article on how interaction with others, and the impressions made, form our identities, in addition to how we present ourselves to the world visually. Handy begins the article explaining the importance of getting used to one's self as one actually is. He proceeds to assess behavior in social situations and contends that there is nothing wrong in being adaptable and behaving differently in different contexts as long as one is aware that they are doing it, and as long as fundamental parts of one's self are consistent. Handy concludes the article stating that his wife's photography has helped him realize that people can choose who they want to be, and the way people present themselves to the world will inevitably influence the identity granted to them by others.
