Description: "(FOR USE WITH TODAY'S TOPIC SLUGGED: CLIPPER) (FX1--Nov. 20) -- HISTORIC FLIGHT--Pan American Airways' Martin M-130 flying boat, China Clipper, leaves San Francisco Bay for Manila via Honolulu, Midway, Wake and Guam Nov. 22, 1935, carrying the first United States trans-Pacific airmail. Friday, the 50th anniversary of the flight, a PanAm 747, takes off from San Francisco on a commemorative flight. In background is Coit Tower and S. F. skyline.
