Photograph was edited for publication purposes Photograph caption dated April 10, 1964 reads, "If you attend Sunday's Mounted Saber Tournament--a quarter donation is all that is requested--you'll see such riding feats as this demonstrated. Above Trooper Bill Hammer approaches a bobbing balloon at a full gallop, his sharp saber held ready. The men of the Canoga Park troop meet regularly to practice such saber drills, taken from old cavalry manuals. It's such devotion to detail as this that helps keep the memory of these bygone days alive."; See images #00117811 through #00117817 for all photos in this series.
