Group portrait of (left-to-right) Wiggsy Sivertsen, Susan Hammer, Jon Snell and an unidentified woman at the Billy De Frank Gay Community Center's seventh anniversary celebration.
Written on recto: "Billy De Frank Gay Community Center Anniversary". Wiggsy Sivertsen co-founded GALA, the Gay and Lesbian/Bisexual Student Alliance at SJSU, and helped organize the first indoor Gay Pride Day Celebration at SJSU in 1975. She co-founded the Bay Area Municipal Elections Committee (BAYMEC), a non-partisan, political action committee serving the civil rights concerns of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender individuals in the central coast counties of San Mateo, Santa Clara, Santa Cruz and Monterey in 1984. Susan Hammer served on the San Jose City Council from 1983-1990, and from 1991-1998 she served as the Mayor of San Jose.
