Description
"White Slavery in Los Angeles," by Charles Edward Locke, Los Angeles, California, USA, 1913. The item, compiled from sermons given by the pastor of the First Methodist Episcopal Church, Los Angeles, consists of material devoted to fighting "white slavery," essentially the linkages Locke argued existed between prostitution and low-wage female workers and how the latter are drawn into the former. With browning, fading, discoloration and edge tears and creases, mainly to the paper wrappers, while the pages have some foxing, the condition is fair.
If you're wondering about permissions and what you can do with this item, a good starting point is the "rights information" on this page. See our terms of use for more tips.
