Description
Black and white photograph showing the building of a new ward at Ama Achara Methodist Hospital, southeast Nigeria, run by the Methodist Missionary Society. The ward is being built out of brick, and Nigerian workers stand around its walls and stand at the top of ladders. The caption to this image reads: "New ward in progress, March 1936." This photograph was pasted into one of a series of exercise book albums created by Emily Godfrey, Matron of the Ama Achara Methodist Hospital.
