Photograph caption dated November 29, 1962 reads "Reseeding begins in Sylmar foothills - Los Angeles County Supervisor Warren M. Dorn, left, looks over rye grass seed which will be dropped by helicopters during the next two weeks as the 5,000 acres burned watershed area north of the Valley is reseeded. The Angeles National Forest area and county foothill land was burned in a forest fire last Aug. 28. More than 21 tons of seed will be used to replant the area. Assisting Dorn are, left to right in back, Ralph Van Wagner, Los Angeles County Fire Department, and Sim Jarvi, Angeles National Forest supervisor. David Odell, director of Olive View Hospital, Sylmar, stands at a seed bag to right of Dorn."
