Robert V. Derrah designed the 1936 Crossroads of the World (6671 Sunset Boulevard) as a Streamline Moderne programmatic office complex, which looked like a ship whose prow was topped with a tall, open tower and lighted globe. In 1974 the complex was declared Los Angeles Historic-Cultural Monument No. 134.
