Photograph caption dated March 4, 1988 reads, "Officers investigate the scene of a bizarre auto accident early this morning on Florence Avenue in South Los Angeles that involved this demolished Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme and a tractor-trailer. Police said a man was spread-eagle on the hood of the Cutlass when the unidentified female driver collided with the truck, her car sliding under the trailer. The man, who was thrown off the hood in the collision, walked away with only minor injuries but the woman was taken to Martin Luther King Jr. Hospital in critical condition."
