Description
Smoke rises from a chimney at Lowell Elementary School. There is a lawn in the foreground and two trees frame the building. Lowell Elementary School was located at 275 Margaret Street, between Sixth and Seventh Streets. It was built after the 1906 earthquake with thick stucco walls that were thought to be more earthquake resistant. The school as demolished in 1971 and a new school constructed nearby.
