Photograph of a masonry worker finishing new curbing on Wilshire Boulevard, 1930-1939. The worker is bending over at left and smoothing the face of the concrete curb. He is wearing long pants and a cap, but no shirt. The area around the sidewalk is blocked off with wooden boards. A mailbox is at left, and several automobiles can be seen in the distance at left. At right is an open field with buildings in the background. Legible signs include, from left to right: "Not for Public Use", "Street Closed", "Dept. of Public Works", "Bureau of Engineering", and "15 Auto Wash".
