Title from handwritten caption on verso. Caption in error, Smith flew just prior to Dole Race.
2012-0434.
Ernest L. Smith and Emory Bronte flew a Travel Air 5000 high-winged monoplane, City of Oakland, from Bay Farm Island, San Francisco to Molokai in July of 1927, just prior to the Dole Race. Became the first civilians to make the flight.
