In this yearbook photo spread, Pepperdine University students assist actor Burgess Meredith (right) with an emergency sandbag seawall to keep surging storm waters at bay. In all, close to 300 Pepperdine students responded to the call to save the homes of Malibu Colony--including Meredith's-- from flooding during fierce storms of March 1978. complete;
