Description
Photograph of children singing in the Theosophical Institute Choir in Point Loma, ca.1902. Children standing according to height in three rows of about a dozen across are visible at center. Seven girls can be seen wearing similar dresses with dark stockings and sandals, while the youngest girl is visible at left wearing a white dress. The rest of the group is composed of two dozen boys wearing long-sleeved dark shirts with high necks and stockings with sandals. While the children are singing, they are looking down at books or staring at a man at right holding a conductor's wand up in his right hand. The man has a beard and is wearing a jacket, pants, and boots with half chaps. A curtain is visible behind the children.
