Photograph caption dated June 18, 1965 reads, "Kids Adopt Zot -- More than 500 children from Herrick Avenue Elementary School, 13350 Herrick Ave., Sylmar, and their teacher made a special trip this week to Griffith Park Zoo to adopt an anteater they christened "Zot." The pupils had donated the cash value of the animal to the Greater Los Angeles Zoo Association, which gave them "adoption" privileges.
