Description
Aimee Liu discusses her book, “Gaining.” She begins by talking about her own past as a teenager suffering from anorexia and how she thought that she had recovered. She discusses some personality traits that make people prone to eating disorders: obsessive-compulsive behavior, parental expectations, perfectionism, social pressures, and emotional repression. She describes some stories in the book about people who have recovered. Liu discusses how 25% of all eating disorder cases are in men. She gives advice and tips for people seeking recovery from an eating disorder. She ends the interview by discussing her first book, “Solitaire.”
