Elevated view of Main Street and Temple Street in downtown Los Angeles, California, showing horse-drawn wagons in front of storefronts of the Downey Block building, at left, showing a sign for "Levy & Coblentz." wines and liquor wholesale dealers (listed at 71 Main Street in the 1875 Los Angeles City Directory). The two-story Bank of Los Angeles building and the three-story Bella Union Hotel (later the St. Charles Hotel) buildings can be seen at right, across the street.
