Description
In this unsigned letter from the Department of State, Division of the American Republics, the author explains that the Peruvian Ambassador wishes "to take advantage of the present war to repatriate the large number of Japanese now settled in Peru" back to Japan. According to the letter, President Roosevelt agreed that the United States would help the Peruvian Ambassador achieve this goal. Collection of notes, articles, correspondence, photographs, and term papers collected by Yukio Mochizuki, a student at CSU Dominguez Hills, while researching Japanese American incarceration and Japanese Peruvian internment during World War II.
