Description
Photograph of drawing dated 25 February 1949. "Drawing shows the new Police Facilities Building which will be constructed on a site east of the City Hall on First Street between Los Angeles and San Pedro Streets. A feature of the building will be a helicopter landing field on roof." -- Examiner clipping attached to verso, dated 24 July 1950. "Into discard have gone costly plans that would have built the $12,000,000 police building drawn above. Public Works Member Dreves testified the plans were abandoned when the Korean war skyrocketed building costs. He denied structure would have been 'plushy.'" -- Examiner clipping attached to verso, dated 15 April 1952.
