Photograph caption dated August 19, 1961 reads, "This powerful front line of the Valley All-Stars will be showing no mercy to the Eagle Rock Athletic Club in the Sept. 10, Mercy Bowl football game at Valley College for charity. The game will be played for the Pacoima Lutheran Hospital and kicks off the 1961 football season in the San Fernando Valley. Pictured, left, are end, Dick Powers; right tackle, Bill Lake; right guard, Tony Grimes (who plays tackle at times); center, Bob Abbey; left guard, Chuck Fries; left tackle, Dale Horak and left end, Don Nunley. Tickets are on sale daily at all three Valley Times TODAY offices."
