Photograph caption dated August 15, 1935 reads, “Celebrating Nisei Week in honor of Japanese born in America, Los Angeles' ‘Little Tokio’ [sic] colony is reviving the color and romance of ancient Nippon. The celebration will be climaxed with a gala parade and pageant in ‘Little Tokio’ Saturday. Photo shows three Japanese who will appear in the fete. Left to right, George Morey, in a Tokugawa Shoguns costume dating from 1700; Sam Minami, in a Jimmu Tenno costume of 660 B.C., and Saburo Tone, in a Yedo costume of 1600.”
