Description: Communist Party leader Mrs. LaRue McCormick speaking on September 4, 1940, at an investigation of a suicide at Whittier State School. The boy, Benny Moreno, had been sent into solitary confinement at the school, and a committee was investigating the incident, which occurred in August 1939. Mrs. McCormick was a member of this committee, currently reconsidering its earlier conclusions.
