Description
This circa 1920 postcard shows McKinley Park's Lake Kiesel. In 1996, the lake was drained and an island was constructed in its middle with the intent of facilitating both a safe habitat and secluded spot for the laying of eggs for the park's numerous water fowl. The dirt for the island was donated by Pacific Bell who had been in the process of digging ditches in the area for the laying of fiber optic cable.
