A Contra soldier communicates using a walkie-talkie while at El Porvenir Farm, located two kilometers from the Honduras-Nicaragua border, in June 1983. Hanging over his shoulder, the barrel of his unidentified weapon is visible. He is wearing an olive green-colored cap. He is a member of the Nicaraguan Democratic Force (FDN in Spanish), whose members are known informally as "Contras."
