This is a facsimile of a reprint of Evans' 1749 map done in 1752 with numerous corrections, known here as 18195 anal. Views of that map are of Steven's reproduction rather than from an original copy. Note the addition of "Second Edition, July 1752." The border between Pennsylvania and Maryland has been changed from a dotted line to a black line "showing the true limits according to a decree in Chancery, May 15, 1750." The old northern boundary of Pennsylvania is still shown, but a dotted line has been added at about 42° 44' with new information - "The Royal Patent granted Mr. Penn 3 Deg. of Lat. & a Decree in Chancery determining his southern Limits will probably extend the Northern Bounds of Pensilvania to this Latitude." A path to Shamokin has been "released by Kic Indian Cuttoongaliacs from the Kittatinni Ms. to this line August 22, 1749." Cumberland, Lancaster, Berks, and Northampton Counties have been realigned. The shore of Lake Ontario has been extended westward through the descriptive text upper left. In Chesapeake Bay, False Cape has been changed to "Fenwicks I. or The Old Cape Hislopen." Heberts' name has been trimmed from the lower margin. This facsimile is noted as 3/4 scale. For the original 1749 edition of the map, see RB 18212; for the 1752 edition of the map, of which this is a facsimilie, see RB 53261. Distance table. Prime meridian: London, Philadelphia. Relief: pictorial. Graphic Scale: Miles. Projection: Pseudocylindrical. Printing Process: Lithography.
