Shown in circa 1955 are University of California at Berkeley students, Maurice Read (left) and Bob Weidner. The image was taken by Sacramento native and literary luminary Joan Didion. Weidner and Didion dated while at Berkeley and Read had been friends with Didion from their time growing up in Sacramento. The photograph was taken at Read and Weidner's Addison Street apartment.
