An artist's rendition of the Mechanic's Exchange Hotel as it appeared in 1849, a large wooden shack with with two doors and two windws. There is no explanation for the statue (wooden?) of a Native American holding a rifle at the left of the building, though the fact that this perhaps fanciful card originated in Germany may have some bearing on that.
