Same image on both cards only reversed. View 1 (1989-1049) -- view 2 (1989-1050). From the W.H. Fletcher Collection. Mead B. Kibbey. Chapel, also called Adobe Chapel, located on Conde Street between Congress Street and San Diego Ave. Originally built as home by John Brown in 1850's of adobe with first wooden floors in San Diego. Remodelled as church by Don Jose Antonio Aguirre in 1858. Covered in clapboard in 1880's, restored to original adobe in 1937.
