Description
Nationalist mural, Ardoyne Ave., Ardoyne, North Belfast, 2011. Famine mural. 'An Gorta Mόr' (The Great Hunger); 'They buried us without shroud or coffin - S. Heaney' [from Seamus Heaney's Requiem for the Croppies']; central image (dilapidated): 'Eviction Emigration', depiction of eviction in 19th century and victims preparing for emigration; plough underneath; to left: plaque commemorating IRA volunteer Larry Marley, killed in Havana Gardens (to left). 'This plaque is dedicated to I.R.A. volunteer Larry Marley assassinated in his home at Havana Gardens by Loyalists in collusion with British Crown Forces on the 2nd April 1987'.
