Description
Photograph of Father Serra's safe at Mission San Carlos Borromeo, Monterey, ca.1908. Father Serra brought the silver utensils in the safe from Mexico for use in the California missions -- now at San Carlos Mission, Monterey. The safe is covered with many studs and a vertical scroll on each side. There is a small design on the left, possibly a keyhole(?). In the background, there is a door with slender panels and a tall lamp at the left. There is a window above the door.
