Description: This was the scene in front of the Coliseum on January 31, 1949, as civic and other leaders gave a gala send-off to the California Historical Caravan. The caravan consists of two busloads filled with priceless mementos reminiscent of California's beginnings, which will travel through the state. Speaking is Willard Keith, of California Centennials Commission.
