Photograph was edited for publication purposes Photograph article dated March 9, 1963 partially reads, "Detectives today were trying to determine if a dark-haired Granada Hills secretary committed suicide or was murdered Friday night in her home. Her 36-year-old employer-boy friend who shared the house with her was booked on suspicion of murder early today despite his protest that he was in another room of the house when she took her own life. Foothill division detectives said they found the body of Barbara Griffin, 30, sprawled in a small pool of blood in the dining room of her home, 16452 San Fernando Mission Blvd. A Fire Department rescue team said she was dead when it responded at 11:30 p.m. A bullet hole behind the woman's right ear apparently caused her death, police said."
