Elizabeth Short's murder is refered to as the "Black Dahlia" case. After the murder the police & the newspaper received various letters and notes purporting to give information to help solve the case. Shown here is an envelope addressed to the Los Angeles Herald & Express in Los Angeles. It had been mailed Jan. 27, 1947 at 6:30 pm. This had contained a patchwork letter saying the killer 'wants terms'.
