Description
A snapshot of three nurses with babies, Clara Barton Hospital, Los Angeles, California, USA, 1923. The women, in their uniforms, hold the babies outside where there are portions of structures, a power pole, and power lines. On the reverse is a pen inscription, apparently contemporary, reading, "Mrs. Hayser/ M. Mason / Violet Sarsi." Another pen inscription, looking to be later, states, "Hospital Babies / Taken on roof of / Clara Barton Hospital / Los Angeles / 1923." Located at Pico and Hope streets, the facility opened in 1903 with thirteen beds and had a nursery training component. With small creases, light soiling and minor rubbing, the condition is good overall.
