Description
Photograph of a view of Washington Street from the Mode O'Day building, 1935. At center, automobiles congest the wide street, which is intersected by Main Street just above the lower edge of the image. At left, high rise tenement buildings are visible, while at right what appears to be a one-story commercial strip is visible in the lower corner. The nineteen-hundred block of Main Street is visible. A more residential area can be seen in the left distance. Legible signs from left to right read: "Glass [...] doors", "Anderson Tire Company", "Apartments. Hotel Rooms", "Low Weekly and Monthly Rates", and "Machine Shop".
