This photograph is contained in one of two volumes by Dobbin titled "Album of San Francisco."
Text written to right of photo: "Carry firms books from safe in burned building Market St. near First St. April 30, 1906. An everyday scene among the business houses for days after the fire-many of the lots contained among the debris from 5 to 50 safes." Photo shows three men lifting stacks of books, with several larger stacks placed next to a pile of bricks and rubble.
