Description
This binder contains a collection of materials related to the American River Parkway. The first document is an informational booklet entitled "How the American River was 'saved'," reprinted by Sunset Magazine in October 1964. It highlights the efforts of the Save the American River Association. Next is a series of maps, documents, and photographs that all pertain to the American River Parkway, including a "brief history of the American River Parkway." In addition to materials related to the Parkway are maps and programs for Discovery Park and Ancil Hoffman County Park. The final materials in the binder are maps; "County Service Areas," "Recreation & Park Districts," and "Major Regional Day Use Recreational Areas." NOTE: Some photographs have information written on their reverse sides. In these cases, the succeeding photo is the connected context. These include items 012 & 013, 014 & 015, 016 & 017, 018 & 019, 026 & 027, and 034 & 035.
