The McKinley Home for Boys was located at 13840 Riverside Drive, Sherman Oaks, formerly Van Nuys. Original property of McKinley Home for Boys lists a Van Nuys address. However, due to property rezoning issues the location of institution was changed to Sherman Oaks. The home moved to San Dimas, California in 1961. Photograph caption dated June 22, 1957 reads "McKinley Home for Boys Superintendent, George T. Swartzott, center, presents achievement awards to outstanding boys from home. Richard Blair, 13, left, was named outstanding athlete. Richard MacCool, 13, right, was honored as top scholar for past year. Presentations were made at annual awards dinner."
