Description
The Chinese pagoda in New Almaden was a gift of the Chinese Emporer. Received in the 1850's, it was assembled in the gardens of the Casa Grande, the stately home of the mine manager. On back of photo: Handwritten in pencil: "Pagoda, Manager's garden, Hacienda, New Almaden, Calif. Mrs. Geo. C. Bulmore. This pagoda was brought from China in the late 1850's." Photo mounted, and photo board edged in gold gilt.
