„Im Flusstal. In der Regenzeit ist er kaum passierbar und jetzt völlig ausgetrocknet“ („In the river valley. During the rainy season you can barely pass the river and now it has completely run dry”). Two European men and an European adolescent are sitting on three big blocks in the riverbed, one of the men is Fritz Bock. Friedrich (Fritz) Bock (1902-1993) was a missionary of the Hermannsburg mission in Ethiopia from 1932 to 1936. He was married to Marie Engel, née Harmening. From 1937 to 1944 he served in South Africa. Afterwards he worked as a missionary in Germany.
