Description

Left to right: water wagon, bundle rig (large machine) used to power a Douglas threshing machine (to right in back of bundle rig) which separated barley from straw, horse-drawn wagon with load of barley to be fed into machine, men ready to put barley into sacks, tent used by men for living quarters, which was moved from field to field. J.L. Douglas of Castroville owned the machinery which he used to harvest the crops in and around Castroville during the Season.
